Cleaning Houses: Tips and Tricks
It is important to clean your house on a regular basis to maintain a healthy environment and to get rid of any germs or dirt that may be lurking around. In addition, cleaning houses can also be a way to de-stress and relax after a long day. Here are some tips and tricks for cleaning your house quickly and efficiently!
Living Room: Vacuuming and dusting should be done at least once a week. Make sure to clear any clutter off surfaces and move furniture to vacuum and dust underneath. Wipe down all surfaces, including window sills and baseboards with a microfiber cloth. Use an upholstery cleaner to clean fabric furniture and carpets.
Kitchen: Clean the kitchen appliances (i.e. fridge, oven, microwave) on a regular basis. Wipe down all surfaces, including the countertops, cabinet doors and backsplashes with a microfiber cloth. Clean out the sink and scrub dishes with a good dish soap. Don’t forget to clean out the garbage can as well!
Bathroom: Scrub the toilet, sink and shower/bathtub with an antibacterial cleaner. Pay special attention to cleaning the grout and tile surfaces in the shower/bathtub. Wipe down all surfaces, including mirrors and fixtures, with a microfiber cloth and an all-purpose cleaner. Clean the bathroom floor with a mop or vacuum.
Bedrooms: Vacuum and dust all surfaces, including under furniture and in hard-to-reach places. Remove any clutter from the floor and surfaces. Do a deep-clean of your linens, including sheets, comforters and blankets. Once a month, vacuum the mattress to get rid of dust mites and bacteria.
General Cleaning Tips: Develop a regular cleaning schedule and stick to it! Clean as you go, instead of letting the mess pile up. Have a designated spot for everything so that clutter doesn’t accumulate. For more stubborn stains use a special cleaning product tailored to the material in question (i.e. wood cleaner for wood furniture).
Following these tips and tricks will help you keep your house clean and tidy on a regular basis! With a bit of dedication and effort, your home can be free from dirt, dust, germs, and clutter – creating a healthier environment for everyone who lives there. Happy cleaning!
