There is nothing more refreshing than waking up to fresh sheets, blankets, and pillow cases. Clean bedding puts you at ease at night and gets you ready for the day. Your fresh sheets not only brings a fresh relaxing feeling to you when laying in the bed but also makes your whole room feel comfortable. Fortunately, there are many different ways to help make sure your bedding never lose its freshness.
Use Baking Soda
While baking soda has been known to be a great use for just about everything involving domestic use, it is also great to use on your bedding for that clean freshness. By adding a ½ cup of baking soda to the wash basin while it is filling, guarantees that your linens will come out as clean and fresh as you want them. To get the best results for your clean bedding, let it soak for 30 minutes before your wash.
Wrap Soap in Fabric
If you want to keep your linens fresh with a floral smell, wrapping your favorite soap in a piece of fabric to place with your linens in storage will keep your sheets smelling clean and fresh. While the scent permeates the linens, the fabric will keep them protected from the oils from the soap, keeping them from being stained. If you do not have a favorite soap, then choose a strong smelling soap, wrap it in a piece of fabric, and sew the ends shut with a needle and thread. Once the scent begins to fade, repeat the process with a fresh bar of soap.
Iron Your Sheets
If the idea of wrinkly sheets makes your skin crawl, then ironing them will give them that fresh feeling you want when climbing into bed. Once you are done, you can fold them and store them in the closet. If you want them to stay fresh and dust-free, placing them neatly inside of a pillowcase will keep them neat until you are ready to use them.
Air Your Bed
Sometimes having extra freshness means more than washing and ironing your sheets. Airing out your bed is another way to help your linens feel fresh. When changing your sheets, removing the old sheets and mattress topper will give it the air and freshness it needs to make your linens feel fresh after making up your bed. Once you go to sleep at night, you will see the difference in the feeling.
Increase Your Drying Time
Making sure your linens are stored with guaranteed freshness is a great feeling but even the slightest bit of dampness can steal that fresh joyous feeling away and replace it with a strong odor of must. To avoid having to endure stinky sheets, make sure they are cleaned and dried thoroughly. If you line dry your sheets, consider a quick five minute drying cycle afterwards to expel the moisture from your linens.
