Forest Park

Located in the northwest corner of Portland, Forest Park offers a unique opportunity to experience the true Northwest forest without leaving the city. The park is 5,200 acres in size, and it’s home to 80 miles of trails. There are also 30 miles of seasonal streams. The park contains a variety of birds, mammals, and plants.

The largest tree in Forest Park is a Douglas fir standing at 242 feet tall. Another tree, a small red alder, has begun to die.

A former public restroom remains nearby. The stone house is a beautiful Portland landmark. The pond in the Audubon Society’s Nature Sanctuary is home to rough-skinned newts and Pacific tree frogs. The Audubon Society also maintains avian exhibits.

There are also a few patches of old growth. These include fallen logs, snags, and downed trees. These areas are located farther west in the park near Germantown Road.

Forest Park is also known for its bike trails. The longest is the Wildwood Trail, which extends from trail marker 0 in Washington Park to trail marker 30 on the ridge above the southeast end of Sauvie Island. Errol Heights

Located in Southeast Portland, Errol Heights Park is a large neighborhood park. The park has several features including a community garden, an outdoor classroom, picnic areas, and a small natural area. This park is located near Brentwood-Darlington and Lewelling neighborhoods. The park is within a half-mile walk of 1,477 households.

The park was designed to convert an unauthorized dump into a park. In the process, the park has become an important community gathering place. This is because of its size and location, which makes it perfect for nature. The park is also home to many species of wildlife.

The park is also home to 55 community garden plots. The garden will remain open during construction. The park will also include a large outdoor classroom, picnic areas, barrier-free access, and inclusive play opportunities. The park is scheduled for completion in 2023.

The park is also home to a number of waterfowl species, including the common duck, and beaver. The park also features large springs, which feed Errol Creek. A great post!

Willamette Heights

Located on the west side of the Willamette River, Willamette Heights is one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Portland, Oregon. It is one of the city’s West Hills, which is a collection of neighborhoods that are built on a ridge extending from northwest to southwest. The homes in these neighborhoods are built in the early twentieth century. They range from Tudors to Craftsman and Colonials. They feature expansive views of Mt. Hood and the Willamette Valley.

Residents of Willamette Heights enjoy easy access to downtown Portland. It is also a short distance from Chanticleer Point and the Oregon Jewish Museum. These attractions make it a great place to start for families with children. In addition, Willamette Heights is home to several entry points to Forest Park, which is the largest city park in the United States.

Other parks in Portland

Located in the Pacific Northwest, Portland is a city surrounded by parks and outdoor attractions. There are more than 200 parks within the city limits. The parks create a sense of community and contribute to the tax revenue of the city.

One of Portland’s oldest parks is Washington Park. This 410-acre park features a zoo, playgrounds, an archery range, and two museums. There is also an authentic Japanese garden. The Oregon Holocaust Memorial is also located here.

Another great place to take the family is the Oregon Zoo. There is a large variety of animals, including black-tailed deer and flying squirrels. There are also trails to explore.
