Hiking Trails
Located right off Hwy 43 in West Linn, this park feels like an escape from city life. With miles of hiking trails and a beautiful riverfront, this park is an ideal place to connect with nature. The park also offers five grass sports fields, picnicking, bird watching, fishing, and a dog off-leash area.
The park is mostly wooded, and the many walking trails (5-8 miles worth) lead to shady forests where you can easily forget that you are in the middle of the city. There are also plenty of rocky beaches along the Willamette River.
The trails here are bark-chipped and pretty short, but they make for a great place to stretch your legs and enjoy some peace and quiet. There is a lot of wildlife in the old growth, and the park has many markers pointing out scenic and natural sites to look for while walking the trails. Ongoing efforts to eradicate historically problematic regional invasive species are a big part of the park’s management.
Dog Park
The park is large and sprawling and is a dog’s dream. There are miles of trails for a long run, off-leash dog areas to let dogs play, a river for swimming or soaking up the sun, and plenty of sports fields. The most popular trail is the 1.6-mile Heron Loop and it can be extended by connecting with other paved trails for a full circumnavigation of the park.

To get to the main picnic area, you can walk inland from the bluff and follow the paved Riverside Loop Trail to the right.
