Oaks Amusement Park

Located in Southeast Portland, Oaks Amusement Park is one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States. It opened on May 30, 1905. Despite its age, Oaks Park is still a popular destination for Portlanders and tourists alike.

Oaks Park offers more than just rides. It also has a roller skating rink that is open year-round. In addition to this, there are 14 outdoor event areas for families to enjoy.

The Oaks Park Association continues to operate the park. They are a nonprofit organization that also offers bumper cars, bumper boats, roller skating, and midway games.

Oaks Park is located on the 98 SW Naito Parkway in Portland, Oregon. Oaks Park is 3.5 miles south of downtown Portland. During the summer months, rides only operate on weekends.

Attractions

Rides

Located on the west side of Portland, Oregon, Oaks Park is one of the oldest amusement parks in the country. This family friendly destination is ideal for families and company picnics.

Oaks Park features a roller rink, rides, and a carousel. It is located on 44 acres of tree-studded land. The park also offers traditional arcade games, skate rentals, and go carts. There are also special events such as glow skate nights each month.

The Oaks Park carousel is one of only two still operating in Oregon. The Herschell-Spillman Noah’s Ark carousel was built in 1912 by the Herschell/Spillman company. It is one of the oldest and most popular rides at the park.

The Oaks Park is open for business on Tuesdays through Fridays. The park is closed on Mondays. During the summer season, it is open from mid-March until mid-September. However, in the winter, the rides are shut down. Visit another area in town here.

Haunted house

Located outside of Portland, Oregon, Oaks Amusement Park has a few haunted attractions. There are three haunted houses that open on Halloween night. If you’re in the area, you can visit these houses or buy tickets online. The tickets are valid from the time the house starts until the end of the night.

The Bagdad Theatre is a haunted movie theater. It’s one of the oldest still in operation, opened in 1920. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The theater has been the site of many famous actors and movies.

It has also been a site of many tragedies. The theater’s acoustics can be heard in many of the haunted rooms. It is also rumored that Goody Cable, a classical musician, still resides in the building.
