Why Do I Need to Do a Back to School Deep Clean

Now that your children have headed back to school, it is time to deep clean your house. From the dirt on the floors to the stains on the walls, taking time out to deep clean your home is a must, once your children go back to school. With back to school cleaning it will give you a more thorough view of what needs to be cleaned and if there is any hidden dirt that is in the cracks. Once you start your task of deep cleaning your home, however, you should make a plan of what to clean first.

Clear Out the Closets

One area that is the most important to clean, but often ignored, are the closets. Most of the time outgrown clothes and dirty clothes have plagued the closets the entire summer and children do not know it. This is why it is important to thoroughly clean out the closets and separate what is dirty from “what will never be worn again.” Once you establish these separate piles of clothes, now you can work on organizing and cleaning out the floors of the closet, making a shoe station for shoes if necessary.

Thoroughly Clean the Bathroom

While you may have cleaned the bathroom periodically over the summer time during summer vacation, making sure you thoroughly clean your bathroom after your children return to school is needed. With towels, rags, and toothbrushes being thrown around in the bathroom, there should be some structure and organization to where everything goes and what should continue to be cleaned regularly. Toothpaste stuck in the sink or a ring around the tub or toilet is asking for a deep clean. Taking an hour out to make sure everything is wiped down in the bathroom will give you a rewarding feeling once the cleaning is done.

Move the Couch Pillows and Clean the Crumbs

If your kids have spent the entire time in front of the television Netflixing or playing video games, then more than likely there is a village of crumbs, food wrappers, and clothes tucked away in the crevices of your couch. To face this journey of deep cleaning your couch, you must remove all of the cushions and clean everything from under them. With a vacuum of the couch and arrangement of the cushions, your home will begin to feel fresh again.

Deep cleaning may be a task that will take a few hours, but once you start on your journey to getting your home clean, you will feel great about doing it. Finishing off with sweeping and mopping and maybe fragrancing your home before finally resting will make you feel accomplished in your day.
